Get to know him better...

Abraham Lincoln once said...
"I don't like that man. I'm going to have to get to know him better"

that's a real positive attitude from the 16th president of the United States.. and a good example of what most people today should follow..
i mean seriously.. people these days based everything on 1st impression.. how true is 1st impression??

does ones look 100% tells evrytg about that person?? i mean if that was the case then the rate of crimes wouldnt be as high as it is today as every one could tell that by a person's look that that person is a criminal! soo run!!!!

back to reality.. WE ARE NOT LIVING IN THAT WORLD! that world in not existent.. imaginary indeed.. therefore by simplying judging ppl based on their distinct look, race, religion, gender, and even age is plainly UNFAIR!

we should ALWAYS get to know the person better before even making the slightest remark of that person...

so take a pause n appreciate the words of the late Abraham Lincoln and the old saying... 'never judge a book by its cover'

from today onwards i will try my best to get to know every single person that i seem to not like at 1st instance.. i could make a big difference.. so can everybody...

suck the poison out...

something I noticed recently when by right I should have notice it a long time ago.. yeahh probably too blurr to notice.. we all have poisons in our life.. n these poisons comes in all types and forms, shapes and sizes, colours and textures..

the thing is.. all these poison has the same purpose though it comes with different features.. which is well (duhh) poison US or OUR LIVES.. each of us have our own poison.. like for some, its their cigarette/smoking... which poisons and could kill... for others, it could even be shopping, the opposite sex, their parent, friend..

poisonous in this sense means a threat or danger to oneself... which could lead to the poison harming oneself directly (such as the cigie) or indirectly (shopping,etc).. each individual has their own specific poison which is very unique and different from others.

the effect of poison could even kill oneself either physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally or even a combination.

and if we really sit n look at out lives, we could easily identify these poisons.. and what "way" this poisons are affecting us.. and again, through examination, we can come through a conclusion that the poison is the main source of the problem(s) we face..

there is another category of poison which is probably the deadliest... "self-induced poison".. it has no or very minor outside source.. so, to kill this poison takes a lot more than the rest..

so what do we do??... GET RID OF THE POISON!! seriously... suck it out! poke it! do whatever it takes... some poison may leave a scar or an after effect... like my old poison, it still has its scar in me today... which has become a new poison to me and I have to constantly remind myself to fight it....

so Shal, fight it! Kill it! before it kills you!

the war has just begun....

What major is for me...

You scored as HR/BusinessManagement. You should strongly consider majoring (or minoring) in Human Resources Management or Business Management, or related majors (e.g., Entrepreneurship, Hospitality, International Business, Leadership, Public Administration, Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology).

It is possible that the best major for you is your 2nd, 3rd, or even 5th listed category, so be sure to consider ALL majors in your OTHER high scoring categories (below). You may score high in a category you didnt think you would--it is possible that a great major for you is something you once dismissed as not for you. The right major for you will be something 1) you love and enjoy and 2) are really great at it.

Consider adding a minor or double majoring to make yourself standout and to combine your interests. Excellent minors for HR/Business majors include: Psychology, Sociology, or other areas of business like Economics, Finance, or Marketing.

Mother's Day...

Mother's day is celebrated on the 1st Sunday of the month of May in most countries. To me it is a day to show appreciation to my mum although we should be appreciating our mothers every day this day is somehow different. Its a celebration of mothers.

On the 13th of May this year, my mum was in Pakistan due to work and was unfortunately somehow caught up in the whole riot that lead to shootings, and killings in the middle of Karachi.
I am so thankful to God that she and her colleagues managed to come back home safely and only suffered a delay in their flight schedule. Anyway, I did get to spend a few hours with my mum for mother's day. That was a great thing.

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics

Here is a brief history on how mother's day came about.

The earliest mother's day celebrations can be traced back to the spring celebrations of ancient Greece in honor of Rhea, the Mother of the Gods. During the 1600's, England celebrated a day called "Mothering Sunday". Celebrated on the 4th Sunday of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter*), "Mothering Sunday" honored the mothers of England.

During this time many of the England's poor worked as servants for the wealthy. The servants would live at the houses of their employers. On Mothering Sunday the servants would have the day off and were encouraged to return home and spend the day with their mothers. A special cake, called the mothering cake, was often brought along to provide a festive touch.

As Christianity spread throughout Europe the celebration changed to honor the "Mother Church" - the spiritual power that gave them life and protected them from harm. Over time the church festival blended with the Mothering Sunday celebration. People began honoring their mothers as well as the church.

In the United States Mother's day was first suggested in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe (who wrote the words to the Battle hymn of the Republic) as a day dedicated to peace. Ms. Howe would hold organized Mother's Day meetings in Boston, Mass every year.

In 1907 Ana Jarvis, from Philadelphia, began a campaign to establish a national Mother's Day. Ms. Jarvis persuaded her mother's church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate Mother's Day on the second anniversary of her mother's death, the 2nd Sunday of May. By the next year Mother's Day was also celebrated in Philadelphia.

Ms. Jarvis and her supporters began to write to ministers, businessman, and politicians in their quest to establish a national Mother's Day. It was successful as by 1911 Mother's Day was celebrated in almost every state. President Woodrow Wilson, in 1914, made the official announcement proclaiming Mother's Day as a national holiday that was to be held each year on the 2nd Sunday of May.

While many countries of the world celebrate their own Mother's Day at different times throughout the year, there are some countries such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia, and Belgium which also celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May.

And to add some smile..
