fear

'Face your fears now before its too late'

Its amazingly easy to say so but when you are placed in such situation(s) it becomes incredibly tough..

I have a fear of heights.. a major one.. its pretty bad that i NEVER went on a roller-coaster, its THAT bad that i cannot be a flyer although the people around me tried their very best to make me stand at high places and not scream at the top of my lungs.

I am scared of lizards.. This would definitely fit in the category of irrational fears.

I have a phobia of people touching their eyes or mine.

Those are some of my physical fears..

Here are some of my mental and emotional fears...

I am scared to fall deeply...

I am scared to get hurt (again)..

I am scared to give so much and not get anything in return..

I am scared I will never allow myself to fall again.. To never give myself the chance to fall again..

I am scared I will lose that opportunity to fall all thanks to my fear..

I am scared that I am simply too happy and contented with life now (cause I am) that i don't want to seek anymore beyond what I already have..

Quotes on FEAR...

Sara Paddison, The Hidden Power of the Heart
If you are dealing with fears and insecurities from old head programs, have compassion for yourself. Just love your insecurities, fears and resentments. Release and forgive them as they come up. Judging, beating or repressing insecurities just gives them power. Then you have a pattern that never gets resolved. Recognize that your real security is built from your relationship with your own heart.

Japenese proverb
Fear is only as deep as the mind allows

Robin Williams, One Hour Photo
The things which we fear the most in life have already happened to us.

Only a brave person is willing to honestly admit, and fearlessly to face, what a sincere and logical mind discovers.

Edward Morgan Forster
I would rather be a coward than brave because people hurt you when you are brave.

Bertrand Arthur William Russell
Worry is a form of fear, and all forms of fear produce fatigue. A man who has learned not to feel fear will find th fatigue of daily life enormously diminished.

Graham Greene - The Confidential Agent (1939)
One of the things which danger does to you after a time is -, well, to kill emotion. I don't think I shall ever feel anything again except fear. None of us can hate anymore - or love.

Louis E. Boone
Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have.

Cyril Connoly
Hate is the consequence of fear; we fear something before we hate it; a child who fears noises becomes a man who hates noise.

Dale Carnegie
Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.

The Vatican Sayings, Epicurus
Men imagine that celestial bodies are divine yet ascribe to them purposes inconsistent with divinity; and they anticipate eternal suffering after death. Peace of mind follows freedom from such fears, and will be gained if we trust to our immediate feelings and sensations.

Aristotle
Wicked men obey for fear, but the good for love.

Marie Curie
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.

Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours.

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing that you will make one.

As far as physical fear goes, we just have to dare ourselves to try and overcome it.. Its hard but its possible. On the subject of mental and emotional fears, we just have to approach all aspects with an open mind and give everyone a chance knowing that nobody is perfect. Sometimes we have to open up ourselves to realise what we really need and want inside. People are afraid of the things they don't understand.. Everyone goes through a bad patch in life, take it as a lesson learnt and move on in life. For that is what life is all about, its a learning process...

suzhen>> good to see that you enjoyed the post..haha

greg>> its easy to move on with life 'learning' from the past but when faced with a similar situation, humans natural instinct would be to avoid any 'possible' trouble that 'could' happened.. guess my whole problem here is the avoidance.. but its true we all need to know what we really need and want in life.. 'know thyself'
